The article deals with the form of classification of some thematic issues that are used in the Kazakh ethnology. In particular, the functional purpose of such subdivisions and groupings as tableware and tableware, household items, interior items, equipment, food and nutrition products are considered. In particular, it is said that domestic science does not take into account the adherence to folk classification as a source, and uses only the established process of classification in the scientific literature. Taking into account the traditional process of classifying household goods and food in the Kazakhstani environment, we would propose the following model of grouping. For example, dishes and utensils are better classified as household goods, rather than classifying them as furniture according to the division of household goods and furniture, which are the two main components of household goods. Also one component with its own semantic distinction is that if the food is cooked on purpose, we can see that the concept of food also gives meaning, along with the fact that the food is already cooked. From a scientific point of view, this classification allows us to study the function of each of the named terms. The article discusses suggestions for introducing the above issues into domestic scientific work.
