Abstract

The main goal of the article is to study the process of formation and development of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Japan. A number of diplomatic agreements were signed between Kazakhstan and Japan to develop relations in the economic, political, educational, and energy fields. Japan's policy towards Central Asian states is a continuation of the Asianism policy that Japan adheres to in relation to other Asian countries. Japan's policy towards Kazakhstan is to promote the development of a market economy in the country, support improvement of welfare and human resource development. A special place in the relationship between the two countries is cooperation in the field of economics. However, it is too early to say that cooperation in the economy has yielded significant results. Taking into account the energy resources of Kazakhstan and the level of economic and technological development of Japan, one can see that not all the potential is used.
To compare the dynamics of the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, comparison method was used, and a systematic approach was used to consider the issue of cooperation and interaction between the two countries.
The materials of this article may be useful to any researcher who is interested in relations between Kazakhstan and Japan in various fields.
