The modern processes of globalization have fundamentally changed relations between different peoples, ethnic groups and cultures of states. This article discusses the ways and need for future teachers to form a tolerant consciousness in the process of higher education and its impact on the effectiveness of the educational process. The article considers the role of tolerance in modern times. The issues of tolerance are noted in the adopted bill “On the Status of the Teacher”. The formation and development of tolerance as the main personality trait is one of the main tasks of the modern education system. Along with this, the article discusses the importance of the concept of pedagogical tolerance in the development of tolerant relations. The components of pedagogical tolerance and the stages of the formation of pedagogical tolerance in students are considered.
