The memorial complex "Kosbatyr – Kumai" is a unique complex of ancient and medieval monuments, in general, it is a structural element of both the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. The sacred philosophical meaning of this monument is based on the interweaving of the elements of Space, Earth, and eternal time, which move the development of all mankind. It is the sacred shrines of "Kosbatyr-Kumai" that represent the personification of the cult symbols of the Turkic state, as well as the appearance of steppe culture, and are also the property of our country. The archaeological and ethnographic complex Kumai is located in the immediate vicinity of the capital of the country - Astana, 120 km to the east. Within the Kumai complex, a number of reference monuments belonging to different periods of cultural development of the population of Kazakhstan were discovered. A feature of the monuments is the localization of various monuments in the valley of the Kumai River, in close proximity to each other. The natural feature of the region, expressively deposited in the microtoponyms of the area, reflects the historically formed idea of the sacredness of the Turkic land: Kumai, Yershory, Zhaushoky, Kosbatyr, Auliebulak. The Turkic heritage surprises with the preservation of ritual structures and stone sculptures, tribal tamgas (tribal signs) carved on the walls of fences. The statues installed on the eastern side of the ritual fences, carved in the traditional Turkic style, observing the characteristic features of portraits of outstanding images of people, were in their original place, they have now been studied and restored. All open monuments have been documented and registered with the state institution for the preservation and use of historical and cultural heritage. There is a lot of work to be done on a comprehensive scientific study and analytical interpretation of the materials of monuments in the general context of the development of the cultures of the Turkic peoples of Eurasia. The monuments of the Kumai Valley will serve as evidence of the centuries-old history of the Turkic peoples. The sacred territory with a high concentration of monuments from different eras, covering periods of four thousand years of history, starting from the Bronze Age and subsequent milestones in the development of the culture of the Saks, Huns, Oghuz Turks, impresses with the wealth of heritage on this land.
