The 2nd half of the XIX-early XX centuries will be devoted to the course of the resettlement of peasants from the inner provinces of Russia to the Kazakh steppe, including the territory of the Akmola region, which was one of the most important and difficult periods in the history of the colonization of the Kazakh steppe. In particular, special attention is paid to the historical stages and course of settlement of the Kazakh land by ethnic groups. The article provides comparative analysis of research and data on demographic changes, ethnic history, location of ethnic groups.In the implementation of the goal of the study, scientific works and materials related to the resettlement of representatives of other nationalities in the Kazakh steppes, including in the territory of Akmola region, were used, concepts were developed. Thus, the results of the study of this topic will allow us to clarify the course and history of the formation of polyethnic and polyconfessional composition of the population, increasing in terms of the population of the steppe region during the colonization of the Kazakh steppe by the Tsarist authorities.
