Abstract

In the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in Europe and the United States there were a number of notable events in the life of the population: social inequality, discontent with the authorities, rising poverty, rebellion, revolution, war, crisis, etc. the hardships of that time formed the basis of the works of Charles Dickens, D. London, E. M. Remarque. There are many works of art on historical subjects, but not all of them can reflect the authenticity of historical facts. And these Western writers, as witnesses of their time, were able to show the problems of that time through the characters in their literary works and his role in society. Until that time, many of their works were evaluated in history from the point of view of Soviet and Russian scientists. This article discusses the literary works of Ch . Dickens, D. London, E. M. Remark as a historical source and are comprehensively analyzed on the basis of archival documents and subsequent research.

Undoubtedly, their works influenced not only Europe and America, but also the population of Russia and even the creativity of the Kazakh intelligentsia. Therefore, this article presents a historical overview of the life of the people in the works of Charles Dickens, D. London, E. M. Remarque, their dreams, the events of that time, biographies of writers.
