The great poet Abay lived during the reign of the tsarism of Russia and took an active part in society. He served as a volost governor and participated in various conflict issues. He closely communicated with the exiled Russian Social Democrats, was familiar with the classical works of European countries and thoroughly studied the works of the philosophers of antiquity and the Modern period. His works inspired the young generation of Kazakhs to serve their people, supported in him the desire for enlightenment, knowledge, and the development of nations through culture.
The article considers how the work of Abay by the Kazakh intelligentsia A. Bokeikhan, A.Baitursynov, M.Dulatov, R.Marsekov Zh.Aymautov and M.Auezov is evaluated. The meaning and significance of the verses of Abay are revealed. The philosophical ideas of the poet in the education of a conscious, educated, moral and fair generation are analyzed
