Abstract

The article is devoted to the stages of the formation of the national consciousness of Iran. An analysis of the main factors influencing the formation of the national identity of the Iranian people in the context of globalization is made. The stages of the formation of national self-consciousness in the context of national policy and the stages of development of intellectual thought are also considered. Analyzing the milestones of the Iran’s modernization, the author describes the process of development of intellectual thought. The influence of such main stages of the modernization process as the Constitutional Revolution, the White Revolution, the stages of nationalist ideas, the stage of building a model of Islamic development on national self-consciousness was determined through an analysis of the role of the intelligentsia and the development of intellectual thought.

The factor of priority in the socio-political life of the society the persianization strategy, aimed at the formation of a single people of Iran from a multi-ethnic society on the basis of a common history, which is considered details. As a result, a comparative analysis of the complex process of modernization was made, covering all spheres of society, the stages of development of secular and religious thought of intellectuals who form national self-consciousness.
