Abstract

History and religion from ancient times go together, complementing each other. Religious ideology, like any other, is born and develops depending on the characteristics of the economic and socio-political life of society, determining its spiritual content and forms. Beliefs, social and ethnocultural environments cannot be “frozen” forever, they are constantly changing depending on objective historical conditions. The purpose of this article is to identify ways and tools through which people have developed a sense of belonging to Protestantism. The most common include: generally accepted norms of behavior, value system, language, literature, culture, training system. It is through them that we will try to consider the widely known process of the Protestant Reformation, as the process of forming a new form of religious identity.
