The purpose of the study is to analyze the historical aspects of the social and political significance of the
newspaper «Ak Zhol», published in Tashkent in the 20s of the twentieth century. Currently, the use of
periodical press materials in the study of national history is widely established in science. Large-scale research
is conducted based on the analysis and presentation of press materials. In particular, the importance of using
the materials of newspapers and magazines in determining the content and subtleties of issues on the history of
Kazakhstan of the twentieth century has increased.
One of the main tasks of the research work is to evaluate the activities of newspapers and magazines
published in the 20-30s of the twentieth century, to understand the essence of press topics affecting the history
of Kazakhstan and socio-political, socio-economic problems of that era. One of them was the newspaper «Ak
Zhol», published in the 20s of the twentieth century from Tashkent.
The relevance of the research work is determined by the fact that since our country gained independence,
certain areas in national history have been devoted to the study of the history of the press and the ways of
development of the Kazakh press.
As a result of the study, a comprehensive review of the primary source base of the newspaper «Ak Zhol»
was conducted, which at the beginning of the twentieth century was considered the main means of periodicals
published in Tashkent, the center of Soviet Turkestan. The research paper considered the historical
significance of the newspaper «Ak Zhol» and its source value in history.
