During the Great Patriotic War, there was a massive forced deportation of many peoples to the territory of Kazakhstan. In the article, based on extensive archival material, the author introduces the history of the deportation and resettlement of special settlers in Semipalatinsk East Kazakhstan region. The social and political situation of the deported Germans, Poles, Chechens, etc. is shown. The relationship of the government to the deported ethnic groups is considered.
