DYUR SAURAMBAEV: KYRGYZ INTELLECTUAL WHO PARTICIPATED
IN THE ALASH MOVEMENT
Abstract
The activity of the Turkestan intelligentsia, which entered the historical arena at the beginning of the XX century and fought for the preservation of national identity, territorial integrity in Soviet historiography studied one-sidedly, mainly from the position of the class approach. A comprehensive study of the activities of the national intelligentsia began only after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the independence of the republics that were under the USSR. The paper based on new historical documents and analyzes some aspects of the life and activities of the Kyrgyz intellectual Dyur Saurambaev, who actively participated in the Alash movement.
The work used documents of the Central State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Central State Archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and materials of the national press of the early XX century. The research is based on the methodological toolkit of Kazakhstani historiography in recent years.
