The study of the historical, socio-economic and demographic development of the small town of Ayagoz  is of great importance for understanding the processes taking place in our society, and thus can influence the socio-demographic policy that has developed in the republic.

                      Based on the official status and the number of settlements at the present stage in Kazakhstan, we have divided cities with a population of 10-50 thousand people into small towns and urban-type settlements up to 10 thousand people.

                      Ayagoz is a city in the Ayagoz district of the Semipalatinsk region (since 1939), an administrative center (since 1928), a large railway station. The city is located at the confluence of the Naryn River with the Ayagoz River. The construction and commissioning of  Turksib, founded in 1831, made great changes in the economic development of Ayagoz. In 1985, auto repair and reinforced concrete plants, a meat processing plant, a creamery, an elevator and other enterprises operated in the city. Ayagoz district was formed in 1928. The administrative center Ayagoz received city status in 1939.

                      In 1930, at the location of the modern city of Ayagoz, the Turkestan-Siberian railway passed, the foundation of the Ayagoz station was laid. Thus, the first steam locomotive depot and other enterprises connected with the railway were built here. Then many Ayaguz residents took an active part in the construction of the railway. In the same year, the regional center was moved from Sergiopol to the Ayagoz station. The traction of one of the branches of the railway to Ayagoz led to the centuries-old steppe. And also, something legal, something in the head of nice citizens. Among them, the names of T. Ryskulov and M. Tynyshbaev should be especially noted. The history of agriculture in the region began in the 1920s-1930s with the first collective farms and collective farms, and the MTS began to form.

A lot of personnel have grown up in the area of ​​agriculture. A special place in the culture and art of the region was occupied by the red otauy and auto clubs created in their time in settlements. They contributed to the development of local initiative, their widespread propaganda among the public. The city, which has passed such a historical path of development, today is one of the small cities of national importance.
