KAZAKHSTAN-FRENCH COOPERATION AT THE CONTEMPORARY
STAGE AND CURRENT PROBLEMS OF ISLAMIC STUDIES
Abstract
In modern conditions, Islamization in various regions of the world should be viewed as a global project, of which Kazakhstan is a component. The most dangerous from the point of view of destabilizing the situation in the region are organizations with a pronounced military character. The role of imams in modern Kazakhstan has significantly increased. Islamic studies began in the centers of oriental studies, and the main problem in them was the problem of dialogue, communication between the Islamic East and West. The application of the universal ideas of the European humanities and the desire to present the process of civilization as a single one, even influenced the conceptualization of the intellectual, scientific, educational movements of the Islamic world.
Islamic studies, passing through various stages of its formation, gradually turns into a science with its own methodology and problematic range of issues, the formulation and solution of which opened up promising directions for future research. Having gone a long way of searching for a dialogue, in which the famous Islamic scholars of France: de Sacy, Massignon, Corbin, Arkun, Kepel and many others have identified interdisciplinary approaches for research, French Islamic studies seems to be a relevant experience of modernity dialogue to improve dialogical Islamic studies. Such experience is necessary for Kazakhstani Islamic studies, which is currently a very promising area of science.
As in other countries of Central Asia, religious Islamic literature is published in large circulation in Kazakhstan, which, as a rule, is distributed free of charge. Several Islamic publishing centers are active in Kazakhstan, as well as publishing houses that publish magazines and newspapers on religious topics. For example, the newspaper «Islam zhune Orkeniyet», the magazines «Iman», «Shapagat-Nur», «Musylman» and others are published in thousands of copies.
