The personality of H.A.Yasawi has been attracting attention for several centuries. In recent years, a lot has been written about him in Russian historiography: monographs, educational literature has been published, hundreds of scientific articles have been written, dozens of scientific forums have been organized. In addition, the accumulation of knowledge about the spiritual and religious heritage of H.A.Yasawi requires the systematization of various works written in different branches of the humanities. The heritage of H.A.Yasawi was not studied systematically, there were ups and downs: if at one time Soviet historiography tried to separate him from the people, then in the modern period some radical groups are trying to reduce importance of the thinker. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the role of H.A.Yasawi's heritage in the national spiritual tradition, the stages of development of Yasawi studies. In the modern history of Kazakh social thought, his legacy occupies a special place, since it affects the formation of the modernization of public consciousness, the spiritual and intellectual revival of the nation.
