In the historical path of the Kazakh people, change in population is a major event with its own place in history. Kazakh land was first settled by representatives of other nationalities under the 1861 reform in Russia. At that time the imperial government resettled Russian peasants on Kazakh land in order to ease social tensions in the giant empire and actively pursue the colonial policy. In the 19th century there was a resettlement of Uighurs and Dungans on Kazakh land. During the period of Stolypin reforms 45 thousand Uighurs and 5 thousand Dungans were settled in Semirechye from the Kuldjin region of the Qin Empire. On the eve of the First World war about 60 representatives of ethnic groups lived in Kazakhstan. Many nations, who came to the Kazakh land, were deported through certain policies, which led to demographic changes. During the time of industrialization the flow of population coming to Kazakhstan increased, most of the nationalities became Russians. Chronologically, the Kazakh population decreased and the Russian population increased. Through sociological survey, the future status of the population on the language issue, which became a minority, was highlighted.
