Abstract

This article considers the problems of the formation of the ethnic history of the Koman-Kipchaks in the VI-VIII centuries, when they inhabited the Co region in Northern Altai. The problem research was conducted on the basis of interdisciplinary approach and comparative analysis of different sources. That the ancestors of the Koman-Kipchaks lived in the Northern Altai is confirmed by the sources, as well as by the work of traditional folklore, as well as the results of genetic research of geneticists, and materials of archeology and ethnography.
The origin of the Koman-Kipchaks is connected with the Northern Altai, about which there are legends that were preserved in the memory of the people as written sources. These legends preserved information about the periods of formation, history and culture of the people. Based on such sources and research, the article considers the history of the communities inhabiting the region of Co in Northern Altai
in the VI-VIII centuries, before their entry into the Kipchak tribal association. Also, the place of the Dinlin and Tele tribes in the ethnic history of the Koman-Kipchaks were considered in the article.
