Abstract. Introduction. The article examines the life path and socio-political activities of one of the famous personalities of the second half of the twentieth century — stateswoman, public figure, scholar, and Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Bizhamal Ramazanova. She was elected in 1963

Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR, where she worked alongside such distinguished figures as Dinmukhamed Kunaev, Shakhmardan Yessenov, and Gabit Musrepov. The purpose of the study is to comprehensively analyze Bizhamal Ramazanova’s socio-political activities, with particular emphasis on her contribution to the development of archival affairs in Kazakhstan. The source base of the research includes materials from her personal archival fond No. R-997, as well as her memoirs and scholarly works. The methodological approaches applied in the analysis of documents of source analysis, personal provenance include biographical, historical and anthropological and informational methods. Results. Between 1975 and 1982, B. Ramazanova headed the Main Archival Administration under the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. Her appointment marked the beginning of substantial transformations in the archival sphere, particularly in the areas of preservation and safeguarding of documents within the State Archival Fund, as well as the strengthening of the material and technical infrastructure of state archives. She made a significant contribution to the formation and development of national archival science. Zonal scientific and methodological councils were established, which conducted research and developed methodological frameworks for archival practice in Kazakhstan. For the first time under her leadership, large-scale measures were implemented to improve records management, introduce the Unified State System of Records Management and standardized documentation systems, and enhance storage conditions in departmental archives throughout the republic.
