Introduction. The article examines Kazakh proverbs and sayings used by the national figure, chairman of the Alash Party and the Alash Orda government, Alihan Bokeikhan (1866–1937), from a historical and ethnographic perspective. Research Aim and Objectives. The aim of this study is to identify the structural, historical, linguistic, and ethnographic features of the proverbs and sayings used by Alihan Bokeikhan in his various works. Analysis of the Philosophical Content and Values of Proverbs Reflecting National Consciousness. Comparative Analysis with Proverbs Currently Used Among the People. During the study, proverbs were categorized and analyzed according to their themes. While writing the article, historical, ethnographic, and interdisciplinary connections were utilized, along with methods of systematization, historiographical analysis, and descriptive-analytical approaches. Results. The study analyzed the proverbs found in various works written by Alikhan Bokeikhan from historical and ethnographic perspectives. Proverbs were considered on the basis of a code of national thinking, not a phrase. Conclusion. The proverbs cited in the article allow for an understanding of the social, societal, and political issues of the period, along with the events that shaped and surrounded them.  Each proverb is employed in relation to a particular context or underlying reason. Each proverb distinctly expresses an individual’s thoughts and ideas. From a scholarly perspective, the article concludes that Alikhan Bokeikhan made a substantial contribution to the Kazakh spiritual heritage. Alikhan Bokeikhan used more than 160 proverbs and sayings.
