This article analyzes the role of religion and education in the everyday history of the Tatars of Zhetysu in the second half of the 19^th and early 20^th  centuries. The study is based on an interdisciplinary approach that combines the history of everyday life with historical-anthropological and pedagogical methods, enabling a comprehensive examination of religious and educational practices within the Tatar diaspora in a poliethnic and multiconfessional regional context. The analysis focuses on the mechanisms of functioning of traditional Muslim educational institutions – mektebs and medreses – as well as new-method schools associated with Jadidism, and their influence on the formation of educational strategies and social mobility.

The article examines the activities of religious figures, representatives of the Tatar intelligentsia, and entrepreneurial circles who provided organizational and material support for educational initiatives and contributed to the development of enlightenment. It also explores everyday practices related to the religious calendar, family upbringing, charitable activities, forms of domestic life, clothing, and the organization of living space, through which religious norms and social distinctions were articulated. Particular attention is given to the position of women in Tatar society in Zhetysu, characterized by active participation in religious, educational, and cultural life, as well as involvement in public initiatives of the early twentieth century.
