According to the scientific research of academician Kenes Nurpeis, the article examines the struggle and national ideas of representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia of the early 20th century for the creation of an autonomous state, and their teachings in modern national history. The purpose of the study is to show the importance of the scientific works of the scientist Kenes Nurpeyisuly, who deeply studied the main national ideology of the Alash movement, the political program of the movement, the struggle and the role of its leaders on the path to national independence, in the teaching of national history. There are enough «blank spots» in our history, suppressed by ideology, repressed, and then hidden under the sign of «secrecy» when the Soviet government ruled. One of the most important of them is, of course, the «Alash Orda». The goal is to awaken the political and national self-consciousness of the Kazakh people: «Wake up, Kazakh!», the scientific research of Kenes Nurpeisovich, who was one of the first to study the struggle for independence of our national intelligentsia, recognized in the country as the «Alash movement», was discussed. The issue of the revival and rewriting of our history after our country gained independence and its teaching in national history was differentiated. The history and principles of political movements, political parties of the early twentieth century are an important issue both for our nation and for our national history, as well as for our nationality and even the future of our nation. That is why academician Kenes Nurpeyisuly Nurpeys occupies a special place, having scientifically comprehensively studied the works of intellectuals who laid the foundations of the national idea, Kazakh history, Kazakh science for the future of the nation, who made a great contribution to the formation of national consciousness.
