One of the current problems of domestic history and historiography is the study of the mining industry of Kazakhstan in the Soviet period. This fact is due to the fact that the current industry is moving, including in domestic history. In the Soviet period, this problem arose with the object of many researchers. After the introduction of non-compliance with the need to change the theme, the introduction of new methodological approaches and research methods was discussed. At present, for the study of this problem and the determination of new directions of research, a special knowledge is given in the analysis of conceptual approaches, developed in the Soviet period. In the article, there are methods of public analysis of the process of formation and maintenance of historiographic labor, as well as the principles of historicism, objectivity and social support. Historical, systematic, retrospective and problem-chronological methods of analysis were used in the work, which made it possible to determine the scientific value and significance of the study of the Soviet period. As a result, the level of development of the history of the mining industry and aspects that remain in the past years within the framework of the Soviet ideology were determined. The results of which were given in the future can be attributed to the main purpose of conducting fundamental research in this region.
