The article examines the historical continuity of volunteer activities in Kazakhstan and the role of the national intelligentsia in voluntary organizations during the 1920s-1930s. Previously unpublished archival documents are introduced into scholarly circulation, revealing the specific features of the intelligentsia’s educational work and their contribution to public life. The study identifies the origins of the volunteer movement in Kazakhstan, its distinctive features during the Soviet period, and its main directions. The ideological orientation, public initiatives, and institutional forms of volunteer activity are analyzed, as well as their significance in the socio-historical context. Special attention is given to state policy as a factor shaping the relationship between civic initiatives and official ideology. The educational, charitable, and cultural-enlightenment work of the intelligentsia is considered both as a contribution to solving social problems and as an effort to preserve national identity and modernize society. The article substantiates the value of their experience as a historical model of social innovation relevant to the present day. In addition, these organizations, which played an important role in the social, cultural, and political life of Kazakh society, made a significant contribution to the spiritual development of the nation, educational activities, and the formation of national consciousness. The activities of cultural-educational, scientific, literary, and charitable societies initiated by the intelligentsia are analyzed as historical experience that influenced the development of modern civil society institutions. Moreover, the experience of Kazakh intellectuals’ participation in public initiatives is presented as a value that can serve as a lesson for educating the younger generation, strengthening national identity, and enhancing social responsibility.
