Introduction. The article provides a review of foreign researches on the problems of the Soviet Kazakhstan history. The theme has been actualized from the view point that «conclusions of foreign researchers are corrupted and do correspond the historical reality». But the historical review proves that the Soviet Kazakhstan history issues have been in the focus of foreign researchers since mid-XX century onwards. In the foreign literature the following topics are prioritized – establishment of the soviet regime after the October revolution and the reforms that were implemented, famine of 1931–1933, impact of new lands exploration on the republic’s economy.  There was no comprehensive research in the Kazakhstani academia analyzing foreign historiography of the Soviet Kazakhstan history, as it was tabooed until independence to analyze the works of «falsifiers». The objective and tasks of the research – to reveal the viewpoints, conclusions and peculiarities of foreign researchers on the Soviet Kazakhstan history in ХХ – first quarter of the XXI centuries; establish methodological principles and directions of the researches; figure out significance and shortcomings of the. Results. The article provides review of the foreign historiography on the history of the Soviet Kazakhstan issues of the first quarter of the XX–XXI centuries. The works of foreign researchers for decades were terra incognita for Kazakhstani academia. The Kazakhstani historians due to their main research streams and principles happened to be separated from the world scientific processes of history studies.   After gaining independence the historians got an opportunity to study alternative perspective for the Soviet Kazakhstan history. Although foreign researchers did not dwell on the Soviet Kazakhstan history, they concerned some aspects, anyway. And after analysis of historical data, the foreign researchers came to some conclusions. There are results matching the historical reality among generalized conclusions, as well as those not corresponding historical events and processes. Conclusions. In the national historical science, the foreign historiography of the Soviet Kazakhstan history was not studied comprehensively.   It was viewed that one some aspects were studied.  It is right time to systematically study foreign historiography of the Soviet Kazakhstan history as a new direction. It is important to study  the works on world history issued recently with proven and objective conclusions.
