This article examines the formation and social activities of the famous writer, public figure Sherkhan Murtaza as a person and analyzes some of his works. Goals and objectives consider the period of life and activity of Sh. Murtaza as a whole in the Soviet era and the country's independence, thereby comprehensively revealing his personality. The articles are based on the materials of the Turkestan regional socio-political historical archive, materials of the Central State Archive of the Russian Federation and materials from the personal archive of Sherkhan Murtaza. During the writing of the article, methods of systematization, critical analysis, evaluation, comparative-historical, logical analysis were used, the results of which Sh. Murtaza is not only a witness of both eras of Soviet and independent Kazakhstan, but also a person who participated in creative work in social activities. representative of this double era. In this regard, it is necessary to focus more on the public activities of Sh. Murtaza, especially his activities during the period of the oin Deputy, his fighting activities in the interests of our country when the country first gained independence. The contradictions of the transition period in society and in his environment, which led to relations with Murtaza, strengthened the personality of Sh. Murtaza as a fighter. At the same time, as sh. Murtaza is primarily a representative of the outstanding Kazakh literature, an analysis of some of his works was carried out to reveal his personality. The article also assessed the organizational skills of Sh. Murtaza in his literary activity as a leader, formed by a whole journalistic school.in addition, a review was made of the great creative work of Sh. Murtaza in promoting Turar Ryskulov to our people. The final article revealed a huge contribution to the changes in the socio-political life of independent Kazakhstan as a public figure and writer, revealing the personality of Sh. Murtaza in a wide variety of ways.
