The origins of the history of education and unification of the Kazakh people lie in the sacred place of Saraishyk. Therefore, we must carefully study and protect every stone, brick and ceramics of Saraishyq, and instill this in the minds of the younger generation. People who are more or less familiar with Saraishyq, the history and fate of its ancient peoples, know it as a holy land. One of the objects of research is the legends of Saraishyk, preserved in the national memory from ancient times to the present day. In our study, we tried to analyze by comparing the legends and historical data related to the Saraishyk settlement.
The legends of Saraishyk are now widely known. They tell about the events between the khan of the Golden Horde, az-Janibek Khan, and Asan-Kaigi, about the Sweet Lake of Saraishyk, the khan's daughter, her golden boat, and also about how the famous Kazakh ruler Kasym Khan called 1,000 kusbegs from all over the Kazakh Horde to "hold an unprecedented salburyn (hunting with hunting birds)" around Saraishyk. In addition, there are stories known only to locals about Asau auliye, Kyz auliye, Zeynelgabit ata, Tazhibai ata. The article presents the data of ethnographer Akhmet Toktabay and information received from local residents. In order to compare with Saraishyq, the legends of the cities of Sarai-Berke and Madjar were considered.
