Aksuatsky district is an administrative-territorial unit within the Abai region. The center is the village of Aksuat. In most sources, the history of the Aksuat district dates back to 1935. However, the article explicitly states that the history of this region is deeply rooted. The name of the district dates back to the period when in 1868 the Russian Emperor Alexander II signed a decree "Temporary regulations on the administration of the Ural, Turgai, Akmola and Semipalatinsk regions". In the XVIII century, local legends and stories contain various sources about the use of the word "Aksuat". Aksuat district borders on the West with Ayagoz and Zharma districts, on the north with Kokpekty district, on the south with Urdzharsky, Makanchinsky districts and the territory of the People's Republic of China, on the east with Tarbagatai district of East Kazakhstan region. Since the territory of the location is a historically, politically, and socially significant area, changes at each stage and the course of development are relevant today. On May 23, 1997, Aksuat district was abolished, and its territory was transferred to Tarbagatai district. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 3, 2022 No. 887, on June 7, 2022, Aksuat district was separated from Tarbagatai district and transformed into a separate district.
