Abstract

In this article, the works of global scientists related to the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site are collected, systematized, and classified by thematic focus. The main objective of the study is to conduct a comprehensive bibliographic review of scientific literature related to the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. The research object includes the scientific works and conclusions of global scholars. Each scientific work was subjected to a comprehensive analysis using historical, geographical, ecological, medical, sociological, economic, and legal methods. The impact of the Semipalatinsk test site was examined from various perspectives, and data obtained during the Soviet Union era were compared with modern research findings. As a result, significant discrepancies were identified between the official statements of the Soviet authorities and the actual living conditions of the local population residing near the test site, as well as the conclusions of global scientists. The analysis of the works by American, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian scientists revealed previously unexplored but critically important issues and directions related to the Semipalatinsk test site. Seismic impact, radioactive contamination, effects on the human body, genetic mutations, and ecological consequences clearly demonstrate that this topic is highly relevant and important. The study concluded with a comparative analysis of the conclusions drawn by domestic, Soviet, and global scholars, leading to the necessity of revising the conclusions regarding the impact of the nuclear test site on the human body.
