The history of the Kazakh Khanate became the subject of study by English and American scientists in the first half of the 20th century, but began to be actively studied since the last quarter of the same century. Since then, the past of the state has been considered comprehensively for a long time within the framework of the history of the peoples of Central Asia, and a number of fundamental works are currently being published. One of the features of studying the history of the Kazakh Khanate in foreign historiography is aimed at understanding its role in world history. In this regard, the purpose of the study arises. The article examines the scientific research of representatives of the modern English and American historical schools on the history of the Kazakh Khanate before the first quarter of the XVIII century, according to which it is supposed to consider the issues raised in it. Thus, scientific information about the works of modern English and American researchers will be presented in the domestic scientific circulation. The features of these studies are considered and some issues of discussion topics are identified.
