It is important that everyone knows the history, especially the history of their homeland. Studying the past and ongoing changes in the history of the Fatherland and the complex problems of our time makes it possible to teach courses on the history of Kazakhstan in higher education institutions.
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the educational and cognitive goals, objectives, opportunities, significance and methods of teaching the history of Kazakhstan in higher educational institutions in the formation of a sense of citizenship and patriotism among young people. One of such important tasks is to provide high-quality education to students studying the history of Kazakhstan in universities, teaching the history, language, traditions of our country, fostering a sense of patriotism and interethnic harmony, forming their historical consciousness and developing creative abilities.
Results: the most important issues of ethnic, social and cultural development at the main stages of the development of the history of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present day are considered. The necessity of forming a general understanding of the place of the history of Kazakhstan in the system of humanitarian education, the place and role of Kazakhstan in the world historical process, a full and objective disclosure of the current problems of the history of Kazakhstan is discussed. The current problems and opportunities of teaching the history of Kazakhstan in universities in high-quality education, education of citizenship and patriotism, and the development of their creative abilities are revealed.
