This article discusses the history of the formation and further formation of the city of Kentau. The role of the city-forming enterprises of the city as a direct factor that determined the intensity of its development is disclosed. An assessment of the moral and psychological relationship between people who inhabited Kentau and its suburbs at one time or another is given. A certain number of sources have been identified that reveal the issues of the issue. The personalities of persons who made a great contribution to achieving a high level of scientific and technological progress in the production process of the enterprises of the Achpolimetal plant in the Soviet period were covered. During the writing of the article, attention was paid to personal visits to the places of the described events and a survey of residents of the city. Both empirical and theoretical research methods were used. The validity of the described events is determined by the nature of the sources used, most of which are represented by the memories of direct participants in the events. The validity of judgments and conclusions is due to the logic of the formulated conclusions. In general, the presented material is seen as relevant, completed in form and content by scientific work, revealing important pages of the history of Kazakhstan. The materials of the article are designed to interest a wide range of readers. They are of applied importance, as they can be used during local history events. They are aimed at expanding the knowledge of the young generation of Kazakhstanis about domestic history and the development of patriotism.
