In the article, the authors consider the application of GIS technologies in archaeological science, conducting the first geo-radar surveys, and the function of georad. The role and significance of interdisciplinary continuity and GIS technologies are discussed in archaeological research. There are many types of geoinformation technologies, one of which is GPR. Unlike magnetometry and electrotomography, GPR is characterized by the perspective and efficiency of geophysical research of archaeological sites. Geoinformation systems appeared in the 60s of the XX century. In post-Soviet countries, geographic information systems have been used in archaeological research since the 1990s. In 1995, we can cite the creation of a GIS Association in Russia as proof of the problem raised above. In
Russian archeology, geo-radar surveys were started in the last 10 years. Conducting research through interdisciplinary continuity will help solve a number of topical problems.
