One of the pages of "blank spots" in Russian history, which requires a comprehensive study, is the period of political repressions of the 20s and 30s of the twentieth century. The article systematizes the history of political repressions caused by the implementation of agrarian reforms carried out by the Soviet government in Kazakhstan in the 1920-1930s and considers the problems of its research. Among them are citizens of Kazakhstan who were forced to leave their historical homeland during the forced collectivization of the late 20s and early 30s. The migration of the Kazakh people from their native lands to other countries and turning into refugees in that difficult period is one of the urgent problems that still requires deep research. After the establishment and strengthening of Soviet power by the state of the dictatorship of the proletariat, mass persecution of its political and class opponents began. The announcement of difficulties in the development of the country as a result of the actions of "enemies of the people" led to the elimination of almost all influential figures who could oppose the party and the Soviet government. The scientific article includes archival data on the topic, as well as analyzes the conclusions made during the research of our days. Based on the works of researchers, nine main stages of repressions in Kazakhstan and four stages of the process of rehabilitation of victims of repressions carried out in our republic are described.
