According to written sources of the X th century, the population that lived in the Keles valley, along with semi-nomadic animal husbandry, was engaged in agriculture, and built cities with high fortress walls, in connection with which an urban culture was born in the region. If we take into account the area's geography, it becomes apparent that the Keles region serves as a natural boundary between those who practice nomadic animal husbandry and those engaged in agriculture. There is evidence of settlements and small-sized settlements in this region, as well as both large and small burial grounds. The cities of the region, which were located on the segment of the Great Silk Road leading from Sairam to Shash (Tashkent), from Shash to Otrar and Yassy, from the ancient period were centers where, along with trade and culture, agriculture and animal husbandry developed. In this article, we believe it's important to bring to light the topography of Kultobe, a significant hub in the Keles region that should be integrated into scientific discourse. Furthermore, the article provides the definition of the name "Kultobe" and draws appropriate scientific conclusions.
