In 2022, an excavation 3 m wide and 20 m long was laid perpendicular to the fortress wall, 70 m southwest of the southern gate of the city of Syganak. The excavations made it possible to significantly refine the architecture of the fortress wall and the stages of construction. The upper part of the section covers 7 meters of the inner part of the city and the lower part is brought to the foot of the hill. The excavation was divided into tiers of 0.50 m each. Below the 6th tier, in width from 9 to 18 tiers, the fortress wall of the upper building horizon of the Syganak city is fixed. Judging by the section, it can be seen that the fortress was built in two stages or, over time, was reinforced with facing. A skeleton was found at a depth of 5 m from the benchmark point (10 tiers) at the junction of the eastern and northern sections. Cleaning the skeleton was difficult due to the fact that the soil in this place is highly compacted. It was established that the buried person turned his head to the north-west. At a depth of 6 m from the reference point (level 12), under a dense layer of soil, presumably the original fortress wall, a skeleton with a strongly curved cervical vertebra was found. The part of the skeleton below the waist is in a pit in a vertical position. The fragments of the vessel found in the 10th tier are dated by M. Tuyakbaev to the 13th century. It is known that at this time the troops of Jochi made campaigns to the lower reaches of the Syrdarya.
