Abstract

Currently, the formation of a civil identity is one of the important tasks. It should be noted that this problem is becoming particularly relevant due to the ongoing events in the world and the development of globalization processes. In such conditions, the information integration of the world is accelerating, one of the important mechanisms of which is the mass media. Civic identity, being a subjective perception of oneself as a member of a particular group or community, is characterized by the multivariance of its content in different countries. Nevertheless, in many research papers, civic identity is understood as a sense of a person's group membership in one community. In this article, civic identity is considered within the framework of such categories of political science as patriotism, civic activism, and the active manifestation of political culture. At the same time, special attention is paid to the values, guidelines and traditions that are transmitted through the media. Civil identity, depending on the information policy being pursued, is undergoing a post-permanent transformation, going through certain stages and changing indicators.

This paper presents the results of the analysis of the influence of mass media on the formation of civil identification. The object of analysis is the content of domestic TV channels. As a result of the study, it was revealed that television channels, having a large audience, are one of the tools influencing the formation of civic identity.
