Abstract

The article considers one of the issues related to the ethnic history of the Golden Horde, related to the history of the formation of the tribal association of Alty Ata Alim (six tribes of Alim) or Karakesek as part of the Junior Zhuz of the modern Kazakh people. During the Mongol invasion, the Karakesek tribal association, or according to modern genealogical tradition, the Alimuly or Karakesek tribal association (Shekti, Tortkara, Karasakal, Karakesek, Shomekey, Kete) is known in sources mainly under the common name Alshyn. Since the name "Alshyn" is found in the sources in parallel with the name "Baiuly", in the article about the history of the Golden Horde, the name "Alshyn" was used in a narrow sense, as a synonym for the unification of the Karakesek tribes.

The determination of the place and history of the formation of the Karakesek-Alshyns in the history of the Golden Horde was carried out using problematic and comparative historical methods. Based on written and oral sources, information related to the Karakesek-Alshyns was determined, and as a result of the comparative historical method, the main conclusions of the article were substantiated. According to the oral historical tradition, information from written sources was compared with samples of heroic epics and Kazakh geneology. The article considers the place and influence of the Karakesek-Alshyns in the social and political life of the Golden Horde, their location, as well as questions about historical figures who came from these tribes.
