The article discusses the main areas of activity in the memory of victims of political repression. They are the creation of memorial complexes, the implementation of research projects, assistance to state bodies in the process of rehabilitating victims of political repression. It is also noted that the creation and implementation of databases and data banks with the names of repressed persons is one of the main problems in preserving the historical memory of the new generation of some types of work carried out in the field of memory storage from the 1990s to the present, and the issue of preserving the memory of the victims of the totalitarian system of our country. The article discusses some aspects of the construction of memorial complexes, monuments, shows the experience of ideological discourse and local memory in the context of two fields that represent the conditions for memorizing historical memory at the present time.
