In the article, the author considers the stages of life and state activity of S. Kozhanov in the 20-30 years of the twentieth century. He believes that the position of S. Kozhanov in matters of
education, land and national relations reflects his personal and leadership qualities. His devotion to the cause of the people and integrity can serve as an example for young people in modern conditions. The importance of the heritage of a prominent representative of the Kazakh national intelligentsia in the context of the «Rukhani zhaңġyru» program is emphasized.
