Published 12-2022
Abstract

This article considers the specifics of nomadic culture - sacred traditions, language, writing, etc., starting from the XV to the XX centuries. In the material sphere, the peculiarities of the economic structure, farming, customs and rites of Kazakhs, which form part of the culture of society, are analyzed, which will help researchers understand the main origins and multitude of nomadic culture of the Great Steppe.
Western sources do not sufficiently reflect the features of the formation of nomadic steppe civilization. This was due to the fact that some sources carry information of a reference nature only. In this regard, the purpose of the presented article is to analyze the specifics of the traditional culture of the Kazakh people based on oral history sources. The concept of "ancestral land" is sacred to nomads, it guarantees the integrity of its own territory, at the same time it is recognition of the inviolability of neighboring lands. Intercommunal relations arise on the basis of recognition of the sovereignty of the territories. The geographical range of the territory inhabited from ancient times by ancestors is imprinted in the consciousness of the people as holy places consisting of sacred mountains, rivers and lakes, valleys and hills, graves where the spirits of ancestors live, etc. Their sanctity is bequeathed to future generations in legends and myths, tales and sayings.
