Classical poet, public figure, founder of Kazakh written literature Abay brought new systems of thinking and cognition. His name is known not only among Kazakhs, also to Russian democrats.
The article analyzes the life and work of the Great poet on the works of the historian Yermukhan Bekmakhanov. Essence and meaning of the Abay’s poems were discovered. The role in the society and philosophical views of the poet aimed at educating a conscious, educated, moral and fair generation are evaluated. The author also examines the poet’s relations to Russian democrats. Also the article demonstrates influences of environment to the formation of Abay’s worldviews.
