In the article, the author, based on the multi-volume source Turkestan Collection, analyzed the works of well-known pre-revolutionary Russian researchers of the colonial period, the works of which most clearly reflected customs and rituals, household and lifestyle, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, home crafts and crafts, Kazakh classes . The multivolume source “Turkestan Collection” stored in a single copy in the national library named after A. Navoi of Tashkent arouses deep interest among the representatives of the scientific and world public, in view of the fact that its pages contain very informative and valuable historical and ethnographic information about the peoples of Central Asia.
