In the process of studying the history of the formation of the Empire of Genghis Khan and separation into separate components - uluses, often need for a clear definition of the concepts «Ulus Juchi» and «Golden Horde». It is common cause, that many researchers mistakenly estimate the period of existence and geographical boundaries of the Golden Horde. They are exaggerating its significance in comparison with the Ulus Juchi. While the Juchi Ulus is evaluated in a more specific way.
This article shows the form of government of the ulus of Jochi in the flow of history, as a medieval state of the Empire of the great Genghis Khan, state founded by the son of Jochi – Batu Khan, as a historical term used in foreign historiography by scientists in Russia and Western Europe since the middle of the XVI century.
