The article examines the role of international cooperation in the system one of the most basic structures in the Asian region – the Shanghai Cooperation Organization , as well as the participation in the organization of Kazakhstan and the Central Asian states. Kazakhstan participated in the SCO is important in terms of strengthening its geopolitical orientation. Since it is currently impossible to stand alone against the global challenges of time, the Central Asian states have expressed the desire for sustainability, stability and security in the region, which requires the joint efforts of the countries concerned.
