Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of studying the relationship of the last Kazakh Khan Kenesary Kasymov with the Governor-General of Western Siberia P.D. Gorchakov. The epicenter of the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people under the leadership of Kenesary Kasymov was the territory of the Middle Zhuz, reckoned with the West Siberian General Government. Therefore, the tsarist Siberian administration played an important role in the fight against Kenesary's actions against the colonial policy of the Russian autocracy. The chronological framework is outlined by the period of the initial stage of the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people under the leadership of Kenesary Kasymov: 1837-1841.
