The article examines the issues of the emigration movement of European Jews to the territory of the African continent in various chronological periods. The author, based on documentary materials from the German federal archive, as well as on the basis of the use of materials from German periodicals, tried to trace the causes and features of various periods of emigration of European Jews to the African continent. Much attention is paid in the article to the emigration of European Jews to the territory of the Union of South Africa in the mid-30s, which especially intensified after the advent of National Socialism in Germany. The author also examined the attitude of the government and population of the Union of South Africa to the emigration of European Jews. In addition, the article also pays attention to the emigration of German Jews to Tanganyka (former German East Africa) and South-West Africa, which were British mandate territories in the 30s. In this regard, the positions of departmental employees of Nazi Germany and their attitude towards the emigration of German Jews to the territory of the former colonial possessions of Germany are indicated.
