The article analyzes the content of the Moscow daily newspaper Vechernyaya Pochta. The historical materials preserved to this day, sufficient for a comprehensive, complete and objective study in the form of periodicals, attest to the enormous role, function and importance of periodicals for the population of that period. Although the availability, preservation and condition of archival materials are sufficient for study and careful research, there are still difficulties for careful preservation in subsequent periods. Newspapers have been, are, and undoubtedly will continue to be a valuable source on history during the period of dual power. In fact, the newspaper pages of the evening editions provide extensive information, unlike the daytime ones, including advertising and entertainment content, coverage of the turbulent socio-political life and serve as vivid illustrative material. Printed materials are and also serve as the main, fundamental source of knowledge, science, schooling and research helping to improve and more effectively.
