Abstract

Currently, in the system of international relations, measuring the state’s foreign policy potential by the level of its “hard power” military power is already outdated, and “soft power” is replacing it, where the country's power is determined by its attractiveness to its development model. In order to determine this form of political power through an example of the successful use of this force by France, the article discusses the concept of “soft power” and its use in modern French strategy of cultural influence. The main resource sources of the soft power of France are analyzed and data on the world ranking of the states that have the greatest influence from this point of view are given. In this paper, attention is also paid to the cultural aspect, which is one of the fundamental components of the “soft power” in modern France.
