The article presents the materials of archaeological research conducted in 2023 by the staff of the Archaeological Expedition LLС on mound No. 4 of the Tausamaly burial ground. The monument is located in the Aksu district of the Zhetysu region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The investigated mound is located in the northern part of the burial ground and was part of the same group as the mound No. 1 studied in 2019, in which the Kula-Zhorgа-Pazyryk features of the funeral rite were recorded for the first time. In mound No. 4, a structure consisting of two separate boxes was fixed in a well-shaped pit, between which there was a horse burial. In the southern box, the buried man lay on his side, with his head facing northeast, and a ceramic vessel was located in the upper corner of the box. In the northern box, fragments of human bones were found, which were stacked in the southeast corner of the box. A ceramic vessel and a metal hryvnia were located at the northern wall and in the northeast corner. The materials of the archaeological works of 2023 complement the data already obtained on the monument and again allow us to turn to East Kazakhstan analogies. A similar type of funeral rite is recorded in the area of the Kula-Zhorga culture. The analysis of the burial inventory allows us to date the burials of the IV – III centuries BC and date the penetration of eastern nomadic groups into the territory of Zhetysu by this time.
