Abstract

This article examines the migration processes and outcomes of Kazakh Turks who migrated from East Turkistan to Turkey in the 1930s. Political repression and ethnic conflicts in East Turkestan caused the Kazakhs to start migrating in the 1930s. Unjust policies implemented by Chinese rulers accelerated resistance and migration movements, especially under the leadership of leaders such as Osman Batır.

The emigrating Kazakhs reached Turkey in 1952 after a difficult journey through Tibet, India and Pakistan. The article examines the causes and stages of this migration and the process of settlement of the Kazakh community in Turkey. It also highlights the role of the Kazakh diaspora in Turkey in their efforts to preserve their cultural identity and in strengthening relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan.

Migration has not only been a physical mobility, but also part of the Kazakh Turks' struggle to preserve their language, religion and cultural values. Kazakhs who settled in Turkey have contributed significantly to the development of relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan after the establishment of independent Kazakhstan. This diaspora played the role of a bridge between Turkey and Kazakhstan and contributed to the strengthening of cultural and political ties between the two countries.
